I was sitting in my World Civ class today and just started wondering....which class do most Black people affiliate themselves with?
To the HBCU students, which class do you associate yourself (and/or your family) with - lower, middle, or upper? And why? Also, is there a specific section of the class (lower-lower, middle-upper, upper-lower, etc.) you fall in...?
And even, what do you feel makes someone lower, middle, or upperclass person?
Just wondering....
If I was to base it off my dad, I'd be in the upper-lower class I guess of possibly the upper-middle class. I'm not bragging or anything, but he used to play pro-football so he has a cool million or two and has an annual income of over $100,000 off of just investments and the club he owns.
Now my mom's side is a different story, which is what keeps me grounded. I've seen life on both sides of the picket fence.
I think generally the upper class makes in excess of $70,000 a year.
$25,000-$69,000 would be the middle class.
anything lower...

Well I was taught in my history class, that the upper-upper class consists of the world's Kings and Queens and centries of ridiculous
amounts of money. And people like Bill Gates would be considered upper-lower.
So...
But according to American society, I would say that Gates and people of his money calibur are considered upper-upper.
Having said all that, I would put myself(my momma) in the lower-middle or upperclass, comfortably. I mean shoot, I still didn't 'lunch tickets' in high school and shol' nuff didn't get any Pell Grants. :?

My Moma makes a base salary of $80,000, but she is in sales, so she get's commision too on top of her base salary. My dad makes $75,000. (Do yall think I put my family in the right class?). Holla back
