Need Some Big Bro to Lil'Bro Advise on Females

Don't take this the wrong way, pimpin. But your post proves you're a living paradox. You don't want the women to act like "opportunists" (I dislike the word hoe); yet you continue to treat them that way and take advantage of it. Have you ever considered asking the young ladies why they don't carry themselves in that way? In addition, at 14 -15 most of the type of conservative classy girls you yearn for have not bloomed yet anyway, so you probably don't even notice them. Now if you want a classy girl, why don't you keep your convictions and refuse to be with the less-classy women? The old adage is you get back what you put out, so apparently you must be an "opportunist" since that's all you seem to attract. You should take your time, enjoy life and live to attract the type of girl that you want. On the college level and throughout adulthood you have people that fit in their places. But it's not on you to judge them.

People will not respect your knowledge until they have experienced the depths of ignorance. This, however, takes time. The unfortunate fact is that some people will never arrive at a level of intellectual maturity. What is fortunate is that it does make it more rewarding and more attractive when you find an exception to the rule. I can tell you this because I, too, have walked this path... although my past experiences were unique, the scenery remains the same. It is depressing to be blessed with potential, and cursed to recognize those who will not or cannot use it. Right now, I suggest that you focus on your own personal development. It is good that you spend time in intellectual pursuits - you must also have balance. Resolve to first perfect yourself, and arm yourself for a world where common sense is not necessarily common. I have a feeling that you have already begun this process. Next, you must make a noticeable change in your habits and behaviors. What you are doing now is bringing you results that are not desirable. Instead of focusing exclusively on finding someone for you, surround yourself in the things that you enjoy. Continue to attend your favorite poetry readings and concerts, but instead of making a conscious effort to find companionship, focus exclusively on your own enjoyment and growth. You will find yourself more relaxed, more satisfied, and the type of woman that you seek will be more attracted to you. People can initially change their outward image to adapt to what they think you want them to be, but this wears off over time, as you have experienced. It is only through getting to know people over an extended period of time that you get to see the true person. So get involved in activities where you are not just running into strangers, but working around people that you will get to know over time. Find a book or study club, or create one. Volunteer your time somewhere. Anything that involves a team effort is a good bet. This way you will become familiar with people's personality without having to find out the hard way. This is a bit much for most people, but if you have come this far, perhaps you're willing to go a little bit farther. Remain strong and change for no one. Holla!

Neosoulbrotha, thanks, man; You are right, after contemplating your words and the mess I find myself in, I realize I have too much idle time on my hands. I changed my number, announced my availability at a library in the Black community and discussed beginning a story time just for minority males ages 4-10 and their guardians (sibling, parent, etc.)�We will see what happens. A community agency stated they could use me within their after school tutoring program. Additionally, I need moms to school more subjects at home rather than me auditing classes at the community college next year, resulting in mathematics the only course learned outside of the home. The latter should eliminate most of my contact with older woman for the most part. I sure am going to miss that income from tutoring math, though. Damn- now to go and tell my moms everything that has happened this summer and why I need her to resume her role as my instructor. I'm getting there, however, I have a long way to walk.

AfroPoeticSista, Thanks for taking me seriously and READING between the lines and seeing what is going on in my head. Guess I�ll have to wait until college, as I completed algebra a couple of years ago and have not seen the inside of a school room since moms read several books by Jawanza Kunjufu� I was not pleased at first�in retrospect, however, pulling me out of school was the best gift moms ever gave me outside of life. I finally realized how good I have it�I still see my friends after school, go to all those silly dances, and do not have the headaches and drama of dealing with school.
