I need to hear how Dr. Cosby said these words to make a judgement on how appropriate it was. The words themselves sound good. I agree, I have seen these things first hand at my apt complex in Atlanta.
Walking past kids playing outside and thinking... get a book..., go do some homework..., where is your english book? And then the parents come out, and start talking, telling them to get inside or whatever and it answers all the questions.
I also agree with blaming shortcomings on anyone else besides ourselves. As soon as we say "The white man did this to me..." we give up our own power. Anything that happens to you is a reflection of how you think.
I don't know about getting put onto a boat, and then forced to do labor... Damn!! that was harsh!! What the hell WAS slavery?!?
Regardless, we overcame. We are free now right? So if we continue to use these excuses what progress can we make. We must except responsibilty for our current experiences, and living conditions.
i don't care what anyone says...cosby is off the chain...
maybe i need to take my dropout **** back to college...
see... man, that n!gga's an inspiration to us all... :?
LEARN SUMFIN"!

^^Dem...thas probably the one thing i've ever agreed w/ u tha most on...
& REALity...i don't have to hear what he said to know the appropriateness or whatever....
EVERYthing he said was right - EVERYTHING...
& like it says at the very end, it's quite funny and crazy how the media has attempted to "turn him" against us....by airing his words about us...or most of us, at least....
those words aren't HARSH...they're REALITY....TRUTH...and Black people need to take HEED instead of offense...
I hate to say it, but any who tries to take offense to what he said are probably the ones he's talking about ...
Unfortunately, our generation and younger are not trying to hear his voice as much as we would if Snoop...50...or shoot, Kanye West...were to say it
we need to listen to him....for real...
