I was talking to my cousin that attends Clark Atlanta University and she was telling me about the great number of female students that leave school because they get pregnant. How common is this at other HBCUs? Are there any that are pregnant but decide to continue with school? It just seems to me that being pregnant would be all the more reason to stay in school so that you could make a life for your child as well as yourself.

It's probably hard as hell to go to class late in the pregnancy and then probably even harder to perform well in class. And then when the child comes out it's hard to do. So when a girl gets pregnant in college they tend to get abortions (jeez!!) or they leave school and return later.
Spelman has a dare care for students with kids but I mean you don't put a new born baby in a daycare center.
I'm sure it happens all over.

I GOT PREGNANT IN COLLEGE, BUT I WAS ALREADY HALF-WAY THROUGH WITH SCHOOL. I HAD JUST PRESENTED MY SENIOR PAPER AND TAKEN MY EXIT EXAM, AND I PASSED BOTH, BUT I WAS NERVOUS AS HELL BECAUSE IF I WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED MY EXIT EXAM OR FAILED MY SENIOR PAPER I WOULD HAVE HAD AN ****. I GUESS GOD HAD OTHER PLANS FOR ME!!!!

it is possible to have a kid and go to school...it all depends on the person and if the baby's daddy is in the picture...
most girls i've seen just took a sememster or a year off, then come back to school....
mad props go out to all y'all females who making through a situation like this....
i don't know what i would do if i got pregnant way before finishing school....
It seems like a very difficult place to be. But it seems like it could be done. That baby would seem to be that extra needed motivation.
