LOL, I checked Houston and New Orleans. A lot of the N.O. slang is correct especially "Da Caught A" for The French Quarter and Make Groceries...but we do that in TX too..lol. The Houston (Bayou City) list was a bit extreme, but Washateria, Do What, and H Town were appropriate.

I've lived in this area for all but three years of my life (Durham, Raleigh, Fayetteville) and I have NEVER heard some of that slang. Yenny Kinta? Naw, I've heard "who yo people?" Beltline? Yeah that's a Raleigh thing. Everyone else calls it 440 . . Tobacco Road? Basically all of I-40 Some other slang: Gone Now - Go One Now (as in leave me alone, quit playin) People - can be used interchangably for family or friends Folk - refers either to family or people you don't know at all (strange huh?) Ex: My folk back home (family) or Dem folks out there, crazy (usually when folk shootin at the club) Random -means when someone does something that defies common sense or stupid Durhmites - people who grew up in Durham The Hill - Chidley Hall at NCCU slouch - a state of being sorry

They had to talk to the white folks in the suburbs because all that was right about Dallas was Big Tuna (Bill Parcells) & Big D(what we call Dallas)
