When is it to early to put em' up?

When is to early to put up Christmas decorations? i understand that once Halloween hits that it's offcially the "Holidays" but when is it TOO early to put them up....i was riding home about 2 weeks ago, and they already had their lil Christmas garlands up...so when is it too soon? and when is it ok to put em' up? Before or after Thanksgiving?

Seem like these people round here got they decorations up year round.. im sayin sept till like february lol. but it is TOO early if they up before thanksgiving. and TOO late if they aint down by the first week of january.
