Roc-A-Fella Records Sells Island Def Jam 100 Percent Ownership While rumors were circulating that Ludacris had sold Disturbing Tha Peace to Island Def Jam (IDJ) for $11 million, it was really Roc-A-Fella Records that IDJ was in line to buyout. According to Allhiphop.com, IDJ has acquired the remaining 50 percent stake in Roc-A-Fella Records for $10 million. The site reports, in 1997 Island Def Jam had already acquired a 50 percent stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. Word is, IDJ is negotiating with Jay-Z about taking over as president of IDJ, while Damon Dash is planning a new venture.
