Smile on the face as bright as sunshine
On the exterior of the being, all appears fine
With your natural eye, you see joy.
But much to your ignorance, that is just a decoy
Inside a little child is crying
Tossing & turning at night, hurting, dying
Storms of destruction brewing in the soul
Externally warm...internally...cold
As if in the wilderness, a plea that echoes
But no one hears the cries, no one there to hold
Faint whispers desperately crying to be heard
As people pass by, never listening to a word.
So go on with your days, assuming all is well
Failing to see that there are things u cannot tell
Know that everything is not always as it seems
Listen a little closer...and u may hear the silent screams

thanks guys. *Thinks to self*. Hmm...i wrote that one about mid semester when i was going thru too much ish. Got tired of smiling just becuz it was expected.
