Why lawmakers are trying to raise the driving age

I agree with graduated driving privileges. The impetuousness, nervousness, and impression of your average teenager makes driving a responsibility that should be taken seriously and approached carefully.
Judging my own life mistakes, 80% of my traffic violations occured between 16 - 18. Yes some teenagers are responsible drivers, but the majority are not, and are an insurance headache for both parents, and other drivers. They are every bit as dangerous as drivers over the age of 60.
Let them "apprentice" under adult supervision for a little while.
Besides, those two years go by, fairly quickly anyway.

Thats crazy fa real. What the hell was the instructor doing out the car anyway. I thought instructors are supposed to be in the car with student drivers at all times, ready to hit that extra brake they have on the passenger side, to AVOID situations like that from occuring. I know when I was in drivers ed the only time my instructor was out the car was to pump gas. Anyways, whoever that student is that hit the teacher, I know they traumatized for life...it will take them years before ever gettin behind the steering wheel.
