I want to see 8 high flying superstars go at it for 3 rounds....2 dunks per round. If the league were smart, they'd have the fans vote on the contestants. Not dissing any of the last few winners/other contestants, but the contest has been really bland in the past few years.
Do it like they used to in the old school. 8 players. 3 rounds. 2 dunks per round. Whoever wins comes back to defend the title. I'd even add a new twists....whoever wins the title 3 years in a row, they get a special award.
Add some incentive to encourage the leagues best dunkers to get involved. Guys like Vince Carter, McGrady, Francis (yeah I said it), Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Amare Stoudamire....I wanna see guys like that in the contest. 4 guys is just NOT enough to attract the attention that the dunk contest needs these days. Sooner or later, the contest will hit a low point, just like it did in the late 90's....right before it got canned.
