I want to see 8 high flying superstars go at it for 3 rounds....2 dunks per round. If the league were smart, they'd have the fans vote on the contestants. Not dissing any of the last few winners/other contestants, but the contest has been really bland in the past few years. Do it like they used to in the old school. 8 players. 3 rounds. 2 dunks per round. Whoever wins comes back to defend the title. I'd even add a new twists....whoever wins the title 3 years in a row, they get a special award. Add some incentive to encourage the leagues best dunkers to get involved. Guys like Vince Carter, McGrady, Francis (yeah I said it), Richardson, Gerald Wallace, Amare Stoudamire....I wanna see guys like that in the contest. 4 guys is just NOT enough to attract the attention that the dunk contest needs these days. Sooner or later, the contest will hit a low point, just like it did in the late 90's....right before it got canned.

I feel you man. [even on that steve francis reference I saw him in that contest w/ vince]. This years actually was good compared to the last two years but at the same time it was bitter cause it wasnt enough. That white cat from the hawks just simply shouldnt of been there. J.R. smith came out strong, amare was aight. Josh smith was explosive, I wanted to see a lil more tho. They needed more people and higher quality and the only way to get that is incentive and another possible form of motivation would be to involved the fans in it more. Thats what dunkers crave. When they go up for that thru the legs 360 they want OHHS and AHHS. They wanna see shaq fall back in his seat and leave a dent in the floor. I think the dunk contest is hot. Its still my favorite, but on the NBA level alot more could be added. The college and h.s. one has been better in recent years and that really shouldnt be.

Hell yea and they need to set a limit to how many attempts you can get. That white dude was just awful. He was in it last year, dunno why they brought him back. My dream dunk contest: MJ Kobe T-Mac Vince Dominique Spud Webb J-Rich LeBron
