Ok, i am interested in sorority X and sorority Y. I went to the first nite of sorority Y's rush, Monday, because up until a year ago-ive always wanted to be apart of them, until now.
So i go to their rush, because i am really interested in pledging. Well to my dissapointment, they turned me off very quickly. I didnt expect everything to run perfect, but i expected some order. The "games" they had us play, were very disorganized, only two of the sorors talked the whole time-the other ones either a.)werent there or b.) chillin, eatin and talkin to their brothers. The whole meeting-to me and a friend of mines-was a hot mess. I just thought that during rush, the sorority was supposed to be setting an example of what their organization was all about, and if they cant even come together and run their meetings right-what makes me think that they can run their organization with some discipline? And their website-is like a year old-how are you supposed to be helping people who are intrested if u have info from last school year? I dont know-maybe i am just being too picky, but im the type of person who is all about perfection in everything. And sorority X is making my decision easier because they seem so much more organized-at a greek social in the beggining of the year-they gave out pamphlets and were the most friendliest out of all the other sororities, they have an up-to-date web page and i received a quick response from one of the sorors. And right now im really leaning towards them now after seeing what sorority Y has to offer. Yes i have done the research, the reading-talking to people in those certain organizations, but after that meeting i really didnt feel comfortable continuing to be apart of them, therefore i didnt go back because i dont want to do somethin i will regret later.Do you think im asking for too much as in the little things (web pages, organized rush, communication w/ the sorors)?
Reading her post made me think of something...
To the Greeks: Is it a bad idea to go to multiple rushes of different sororities, or you should only be seen at the rushes and events of the sorority that you are most interested in and ultimately wanna pledge??
