Think about this before you answer....Shaq is 33, and wanted more money than Kobe. Kobe is 26 and would've saved you money on the salary cap. You also would get more years out of Kobe, but a player like Shaq doesn't come around everyday.
If the decision was yours to make, would you have taken Kobe over Shaq?
I would've kept Shaq for the simple fact that I know Kobe wouldn't be as big of an offensive AND defensive threat like Shaq.
its simple, you keep shaq simply because you can find another gaurd, maybe not of kobe's stature, but there are tons of players out there that you could team with shaq. If you keep Kobe you aint gonna come across another big man half as good as shaq that a team would willingly give up, simply because big men are hard to come by.

Kobe just fukked his whole career up wit how he handled the **** situation. If yall remember MJ freaked some random white girl back in like '92, but he handled it wit honesty and class. So no one even remembered it. He's still the best ever and still has/had all those McD's commercials and is looked at as a role model. Kobe should have just admitted the infidelity, and denied the **** and let everything run it's course wit class. Instead he wants to start trying to put heat on other folks for no reason like when he said out the blue one day, "Why yall all on me? I mean yeah, i cheated on my wife. But Shaq's out there giving chicks a million dollars to do a bunch of stuff wit each other." And then he came out and accused the one cat who had his back throughout this whole thing, Karl Malone, of hitting on his wife. And then gets him kicked off the team. Kobe ain't been the same since. He lost damn near ALL his promos, and will never really be trusted by any sensible teammate again.
And from that standpoint, I'd pick Shaq hands-down. But before all this b.s., i would have picked Kobe cuz his future was mos def shining BRIGHT.
