Computer HELP

my damn parents installed Norton Internet Security on the damn computer and I don't know what the hell they did but now I can't make a connection through filesharing programs (Ares, Limewire, WinMX)...so I disabled Norton at startup so the firewall wouldn't come up at all...but I still can't use my filesharing programs...man...wtf...I'm feeling like a crack fiend who hasn't had a fix in a LONG **** time...I have crap I wanna put on my iPod and burn some CDs :x
