For me its moreso a way of life. It's making that hot mix on the turntables and folks going wild. It's listening to a rapper make a statement on something outside of women, ****, etc. It's waking up in the morning and turning on the radio and your favorite song is on.
I view it as a being. It has needs, wants, feelings, elements and so on. I can't put the words to it like I would like to. But this will do for now...

Hip-Hop is politics and artform, and lyrics with meaning and a focus to me... it's about having a good time and enlightening minds...

It's a creative way to express thoughts and personal feelings. In another instance, it's a way of life and a culture.
I see and hear people criticizing certain rappers because of what they choose to rap about or how they rap, but that's like telling someone their journal or diary is right. You can't tell someone how express themselves and to me hip-hop doesn't have a blueprint or instructions. It's just life.
