Are you ready to make an impact?
Our client, a financial institution in Downtown Detroit, is seeking a key player in supporting their accounting functions! As an Accounts Payable clerk, you'll work closely with the Controller and CFO, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of daily accounting operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for numbers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Solve Financial Puzzles: Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies by gathering and analyzing account information, ensuring everything adds up.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Assist various departments in reconciling daily transactions and reports, making you an integral part of the company's financial operations.
  • Ensure Accuracy & Integrity: Maintain accurate records by reviewing and completing daily posting activities, while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Drive Decision-Making: Provide management with actionable data, empowering them to make informed business decisions.
  • Protect Confidential Information: Help maintain customer trust by safeguarding sensitive financial information and adhering to confidentiality standards.
  • Master Time Management: Use your organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities, especially during busy periods.
  • Support Key Processes: Assist with the Accounts Payable process and participate in Wire Desk functions, ensuring smooth financial operations.
  • Be Part of a Winning Team: Contribute to the team's success by stepping in and helping with various accounting tasks as needed.

What We're Looking for:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (great for recent grads who are eager to grow!).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills-you know how to explain numbers clearly and confidently.
  • An analytical thinker who thrives on solving problems and spotting trends.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, even during hectic times, and stay calm under pressure.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
