We are seeking a meticulous and organized Accounting Clerk to join our prestigious law firm. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting the firm's financial operations, including client billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This role requires attention to detail, discretion, and familiarity with legal billing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Prepare and process client invoices, ensuring compliance with client guidelines and legal standards.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding client payments.
  • Post client payments and reconcile accounts.
  • Assist attorneys and staff with billing inquiries or adjustments.
  • Generate and review client billing reports for accuracy.

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment.
  • Ensure proper approval and documentation of expenses.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process electronic payments and checks.

General Accounting Duties:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with trust account management in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare reports, including expense and revenue summaries, for management review.
  • Respond to internal and external financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
    • Familiarity with legal billing software (e.g., Clio, ProLaw, or Timeslips) is a plus.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance. For unincorporated Los Angeles county, to the extent our customers require a background check for certain positions, the Company faces a significant risk to its business operations and business reputation unless a review of criminal history is conducted for those specific job positions.
