Job Description
Cost Accounting Director
This is a hybrid position with 2 days of remote work per week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement Overall accountability for the preparation and filing of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. Establish internal controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of the filings; implement and maintain a process for responding to auditors and managing audits of the cost reports by regulatory agencies.
340b Registration and Compliance in partnership with the AVP of Pharmacy, support compliance requirements of the 340b drug discount program through management of child site eligibility and annual registration procedures with HRSA. Assist in responses to auditors as required.
Cost Accounting System Management maintain the cost accounting system for the Medical Center in collaboration with the information services team. Ensure costing data loaded is complete and accurate and there are internal controls to ensure reporting is valid. Assist in analytics of clinical operations costing for new clinical initiatives.
Policies & Practices-Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that guide and support departmental operations and services. Interact with business and operational leaders of client divisions to identify upcoming changes to operations.
Financial Management-Overall accountability for the financial management functions for the department. Develop, implement, evaluate and manage the department's annual and capital budget to achieve the Divisional and Departmental objectives; establish internal controls for cash management; implement and maintain a process for financial controls and external financial audits; develop and implement accounts receivable management; analyze and monitor financial performance and report financial results to stakeholders; evaluate variances, determine underlying causes and identify, present, and implement proposed solutions; establish and monitor productivity metrics; ultimate accountability for compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures
Performance Management-Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division's talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.

Compliance-Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Evaluate area of responsibility for compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Identify best practices as well as deficiencies to share with peers and make recommendations for improvement. Participate in the development of corrective action plans to guide needed and sustainable improvements. Ensure that compliance and readiness plans are current. Enhance relationships to promote interdisciplinary involvement and knowledge of compliance standards, status, and actions. Track laws, regulations and standards that may affect practice and policies. Work with direct reports to insure that needed changes are made by the effective date of any change(s) in requirements.

Bachelor's degree in a related field
