Job SummaryThe Office of the Vice President and General Counsel ("OGC") at the University of Michigan (University or U-M) is conducting a search for an experienced health care attorney to serve as an Associate General Counsel. The successful candidate will provide counsel and support to the University's clinical enterprise, inclusive of its fully integrated academic medical center, its medical school, and its state-wide clinical network ("Michigan Medicine"), and periodically will advise the University's other schools, colleges, and administrative areas on health care regulatory matters. The successful candidate must be able to work independently on a wide range of complex and novel issues. The role will be tailored to the unique qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate as related to client needs and other OGC team members' areas of expertise and workloads. The OGC team currently works a hybrid model with three days a week in the office. What You'll DoReporting to the Deputy General Counsel for Michigan Medicine, this role will provide counsel and support to the University's clinical enterprise, inclusive of its fully integrated academic medical center, its medical school, and its state-wide clinical network ("Michigan Medicine"), as well as periodically advise the University's other schools, colleges, and administrative areas on health care regulatory matters. The attorney who fills this role must be able to work independently on a wide range of complex and novel issues, with a particular focus on regulatory matters. This role will work closely with senior leadership of Michigan Medicine and support the strategic goals of the organization. The role will be tailored to the unique qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate as those talents relate to client needs and other OGC team members' areas of expertise and workloads.
