Job Description
Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology -Woodhull

NYU Grossman School of Medicine, an affiliate of Woodhull Medical Center, is seeking an experienced, full-time accomplished anesthesiologist to serve as the Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology. Our obstetric anesthesiologist will serve as on-site, full-time consultant in the labor and delivery suite at Woodhull Medical Center. The selected candidate will assist obstetric colleagues in the management of patient care, administer pain relief for labor and for cesarean delivery, and manage emergencies that may arise.

Successful applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed physician (MD or DO), board-certified in Anesthesiology.
  • Must be fellowship-trained in obstetric anesthesiology, or have equivalent advanced training and/or experience beyond that of anesthesia residency training.
  • Experience and comfort with an integrative midwifery model of care.
  • A respected clinical physician with outstanding professional credibility and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership, administration, organization and program development of clinical services.
  • Demonstrated ability for teamwork and collaborative problem-solving using an analytical and systematic approach.
  • Ability to provide leadership to physicians and other health care professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with culturally diverse trainee and patient populations.
  • Be recognized for their contributions to the field of Obstetric Anesthesiology.
  • Training in or commitment to completing training in lean management.

We offer a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work environment, which includes the following: as outlined below:

Annual Base Salary: is $520,000 with total compensation including bonuses ranging from $520,000-$550,000

· 403B/457 participation inclusive of a 10% employer contribution with no employee match required

· Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement ranging from $3000-$3500 inclusive of one week of paid CME time

· Projected annual revenue sharing payments of up to $30,000 contingent upon meeting required productivity and compliance metrics

· 24 Annual vacations days, 12 Sick Days, 12 recognized Holidays

· Full NYU Benefits packed including Medical Dental, Prescription, Disability, and Life Insurance Coverage

· NYU college tuition remission for employees and dependents
