Open Rank- Clinical Educator in Family Medicine Open Rank- Clinical Educator in Family Medicine Job ID: 294507 Location: Augusta University Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: * Job Summary Job ID 294507 Position # 40104605 The Medical College of Georgia, Department of Family and Community Medicine at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The selected candidate must be a board-certified or board-eligible, fellowship-trained Sports Medicine physician interested in joining a busy, well-established faculty practice in Augusta, Georgia. In collaboration with departmental colleagues, the faculty member will provide comprehensive clinical care to both adult and pediatric patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. In alignment with the mission and vision of the Medical College of Georgia, the candidate should demonstrate an interest in medical education and research. There is also potential for a future joint appointment with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the Medical College of Georgia. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track. Responsibilities Patient Care - 90% Mix of private patients and precepting residents Teaching/Instruction - 10% UME instruction
Required Qualifications - MD, DO or equivalent - Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Family Medicine Residency Program - CAQ in Sports Medicine - Board certified (or board-eligible) and completion of a Family Medicine Sports Medicine Fellowship - Eligible for licensure in Georgia and credentialing at MCG's partner Academic Medical Center Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: - Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation; - Evidence of ability as a teacher; - Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; - Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, - Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Teaching medical learners, especially residents. Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
