Assistant Director, YouthBuild Program FT/PT: Full-Time General Position Description: Provides leadership for all grant activities of the Orange County YouthBuild program, which assists students with earning their high school diploma and provides opportunities for career training and job placement. Under the leadership of the Director of Youth Programs & Services, this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of grant deliverables, data analysis and reporting requirements, and evaluation of project outcomes. Collaborates with leadership in Continuing Education to ensure all program goals and strategies are met in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance daily. Salary Range: $56,653 - $60,791 per year Description of Job Function: 1. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Orange County YouthBuild program. Directs, administers, and manages services for at-risk youth obtaining their high school diploma, developing academic occupational skills, requiring additional support services, and transitioning to a post-secondary environment. Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions. Other Required Qualifications: Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with program and case management; project management; contract development; data analysis and reporting; and grant and budget management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Ability to lead in a passionate, caring, and dynamic manner, exhibiting professionalism at all times. 2. Ability to collaborate with multiple groups both internally and externally. 3. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, complete assigned work within deadlines, and effectively lead employees to achieve peak performance goals and recognize need for training and education to improve performance. 4. Ability to research related information and regulations, prepare reports and documents, and attend to details with a high level of accuracy. 5. Possess critical thinking skills in setting priorities, assessing situations, and making sound and prudent decisions. 6. Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc. 7. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), database and internet software. 8. Demonstrated experience in recruiting new students and advising students. 9. Ability to travel to multiple locations for onsite visits and meetings. General Working Conditions: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
