Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/13/2026. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: obtaining and documenting vital signs; preparing patients for exams and diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs); collecting laboratory specimens and performing venipuncture, arterial puncture, and blood glucose testing; inserting angiocaths and urinary catheters; assisting providers with procedures; maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment; observing and reporting changes in patient condition; initiating emergency response procedures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation; adhering to infection control standards; documenting care in the medical record; safely transporting and assisting patients with mobility; communicating with patients and interdisciplinary staff; safeguarding patient information; maintaining supplies and equipment; and performing administrative support duties to facilitate inpatient care operations.
