Workforce Planning Senior Analyst
Role Summary
The Workforce Planning Senior Analyst is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining labor models that forecast fulfillment and capacity across Field Services functions, including Field Services Repair. This role delivers forecasting, analytics, and strategic guidance to support efficient labor utilization while balancing customer experience, employee experience, and financial goals. Key partnerships include Finance, Operations, HR, Financial Systems, Field Leadership, and other business teams.
This role is remote-eligible within the United States. Candidates who reside outside of Minnesota may work fully remotely. Candidates based in Minnesota will follow a hybrid schedule, working some days at our corporate office in Richfield, MN, and some days remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Business Acumen
Develop deep subject-matter expertise in field services repair labor, labor modeling, and key business drivers.
Review labor plans incorporating business-driver forecasts and operational trends.
Clearly articulate how planning decisions impact the broader business, enabling informed decision-making.
Analytical Expertise
Create long- and short-term fulfillment forecasts and capacity/staffing plans to support field services repair across the Best Buy fulfillment network.
Support organizational strategies to maximize labor investment efficiency.
Conduct scenario planning and impact analyses to evaluate changes to labor strategy.
Validate data accuracy, challenge incorrect assumptions, and provide actionable insights.
Analyze factors influencing labor strategy execution and communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations via written and verbal channels.
Relationship Building
Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to develop annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets aligned to financial targets.
Build strong working relationships across teams and levels to understand needs, mitigate risks, and remove roadblocks.
Promote awareness and understanding of labor metrics and workforce management impacts.
Communication & Agility
Identify and resolve workforce planning challenges, delivering clear and practical solutions aligned with customer, employee, and financial outcomes.
Communicate planning needs, methodologies, and expected outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
Adapt effectively to shifting priorities and operate confidently in ambiguous situations.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of analytical, financial, or planning experience.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of Workforce Management experience.
Experience with IBM Cognos (TM1).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field.
