Pulmonary Physician Job Requirements
The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC)a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS)is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonologist to join a well-established and growing pulmonary program in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality pulmonary medicine in a collaborative, community-based setting while maintaining strong academic affiliation and access to tertiary resources through UMMS.
Clinical Role & Practice Environment
Join a collegial, multidisciplinary pulmonary team supported by experienced advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and robust clinical infrastructure designed to optimize physician efficiency and patient care.
Balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient pulmonary medicine
Opportunity to practice general pulmonology with flexibility to develop subspecialty interests
Strong collaboration with hospital medicine, critical care, sleep medicine, and specialty services
Access to advanced diagnostics, pulmonary function testing, and comprehensive respiratory support services
Integrated sleep and CPAP testing performed in-office, supporting streamlined continuity of care
Ability to participate in ICU-related pulmonary/critical care management if desired
Clinical & Workflow Support
The pulmonary practice is structured to support physician efficiency and reduce administrative burden:
Office hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Protected daily closure from 12:00 PM 1:00 PM for lunch and administrative time
Dedicated office coordinators (OFCs) for scheduling, patient flow, and operational support
Assigned personnel for DME coordination (CPAP, oxygen, respiratory equipment, etc.)
Onsite clinical pharmacist support for medication optimization and chronic disease management
Embedded support for prior authorizations and administrative tasks, allowing physicians to focus on clinical care
Streamlined outpatient workflow designed to promote work-life balance and sustainable practice

Work Experience
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine
Valid Maryland medical license or eligibility to obtain
BLS and ACLS certification required

Benefits
Base Salary: $250,000 $300,000
Productivity Incentive: wRVU-based compensation model
Sign-On Bonus: Available up to $20,000
CME allowance: $3,500 annually + 40 CME hours
