The primaryresponsibilityof this position is toprovide financial leadership and business support for US Specialty & Eye Care consolidation activities. TheAssociate Directorinteracts with all levels ofthe Financeand Commercial to consolidateUS Specialty and Eyecare, contributing to the development of the necessary business analytics to support thedecision-makingprocess,as wellas supporting all the AbbVie planning and reporting processes. Further, this position is responsible for overseeing the pipeline forecasts and budgets for both Specialty & Eye Care.

Specifically, this position is responsible for financial planning and analysis related to Plan, LBEs and LRP, decision-making support and recommendations to Specialty/Eyecare Leadership. In addition, this positionis responsible forSG&Aforecasting, monitorization and reporting for the VP Specialty Budget and PCS Assets.

This position will havetwodirect reports and willbe responsible fortheir performance anddevelopment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning - Lead the consolidation processes [Plan, UPD, LBE and LRP] ensuring accurate and timely integration of sales forecast, pricing, and SG&A, ensuring management input to meet overall division/corporate calendar deadlines.
  • Ensure financial planning deliverables are accurate, clear, and concise for Executive level review and approval.
  • Serve as the key point of contact of the finance team in liaising with DHQ on the calendar of deliverables, templates, ad hoc requests and any follow ups coming out of planning discussions.
  • Decision Support/Special Projects -- Provide analyses for ad hoc or other business presentations that lend insight into key business drivers enabling operating management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategy to meet the LBE / Plan / LRP objectives.
  • Financial statement accuracy Ensure accurate monthly reporting by reviewing inputs from the team members, while building time for thorough validation prior to submission.
  • Continuous improvement Ensure documentation of process for team, communicate flowcharts that clearly layout roles and responsibilities / hand off. Further, continue to leverage technology to enhance usability of system pulls and ease the burden for populating templates
  • This individual is expected to successfully perform all responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy.

People Leadership and Development:

  • Responsible for delegating to and coaching two direct reports to ensurean optimallevel of support to the business and providing coaching and career development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff
  • Drive a positive, productive, and inclusive culture
  • Ensure full alignment with AbbVie Ways of workingand expected behaviors

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or financerequired.
  • 8-10 years progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve business problems through the proactive identification of issues and subsequent collection, analysis and interpretation of related data Demonstrated problem solving and analysis within a broad framework of AbbVies financial policies (CFMs), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience in leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment to successfully achieve results / deliverables.
  • Decision Support/Special Projects - Provide analyses for ad hoc or other business presentations that lend insight into key business drivers enabling operating management to adapt more appropriate tactics/strategy to meet the LBE / Plan / LRP objectives.
  • Financial statement accuracy Ensure accurate monthly reporting by reviewing inputs from the team members, while building time for thorough validation prior to submission.
  • Solid understanding of automated accounting systems such as BPC, SAP, desktop productivity, and mainframe accounting application.

  • Global Controllers organization (Consolidations)
  • Serves as key point of contact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commercial Business Team, APEX, Market Access, Pricing
