About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Full-stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable, cloudnative applications in a modern enterprise environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who brings strong backend expertise while maintaining a solid working knowledge of frontend technologies.

What You'll Own

As a Software Engineer, you will primarily work on backend systems using Java and Python, building reliable services and APIs that support highvolume, datadriven applications. You will design and optimize data layers using relational and NoSQL databases and deploy applications on AWS, following best practices for security, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. You will also collaborate with AI and data teams to integrate AIenabled capabilities into platform services and user workflows.

On the front end, you will work with technologies such as React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, collaborating closely with frontend engineers to deliver clean, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces. You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support, in an agile, crossfunctional team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Java and Python
• Build and optimize data models and database integrations
• Deploy and operate applications on AWS using CI/CD pipelines
• Integrate AIpowered features and datadriven services
• Collaborate on frontend development using React and modern web technologies

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Strong experience with Java, Python, databases, and AWS
• Working knowledge of React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience with cloudnative development and APIs
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations and datacentric systems

This is a hybrid work setup, where the candidate will be required to work up to three days onsite at our Hoboken office.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The full-time salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $115,000
