Please review the following job description:

Responsible for monitoring and reporting on a portfolio of equity investments through partnerships with real estate developers/syndicators. Areas of focus include projects utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) that each drive critical CRA results. Investments provide banking solutions for developer clients and economically benefit and revitalize communities throughout the Truist footprint by providing affordable housing, creating or preserving new jobs and bringing new goods and services to underserved areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Manage the condition and performance of Truist Community Capitals investments to ensure ongoing compliance with Bank credit terms, external stakeholder and IRS requirements. The assigned portfolio is typically comprised of complex investments with large portfolio exposures.
  • Monitor regular financial and operational reporting on the performance of investments, while working directly with partners to resolve concerns. This involves detailed review and analysis of operating budgets, audited financial statements, and partnership tax returns.
  • Prepare risk ratings on investments, while communicating and making recommendations to the Asset Management Team Lead and Risk Officer on strategies to address projects requiring additional oversight
  • Perform in-person property inspections to assess physical condition and ongoing compliance
  • Serve as a resource providing guidance and support to newer Asset Managers or to other areas within the Bank
  • Promote sound risk management as the first line of defense by ensuring compliance with Bank policies for credit, underwriting, operational, regulatory, tax, legal procedures and policies.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external working partnerships across multiple lines including: Credit Risk, Portfolio Management, CRE - RECAD, Wholesale Ops, CRE Loan Admin, along with Clients such as Developers, Syndicators, and Property Management Companies
  • Keep abreast of developments and current regulations in the industry and in geographic markets served, while serving as a skilled resource into firsthand insight and trends.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field, and specific knowledge/experience with supporting educational background, or equivalent education and related training
  • 7 or more years of related experience
  • Knowledge or experience in strategic planning/projects/process management
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of accounting, financial, operational, regulatory and information technology systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

  • Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP)
