Math Instructor, Upward Bound - Part Time <div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active fr-view" style="margin:2px"> <dl> <dt><h2>Class Description</h2></dt> <dd><p>The purpose of this class is to provide academic, mentoring and support services to participants in the TRIO Upward Bound Programs.<br> </p></dd> <dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt> <dd><p>Bachelor's degree/Masters preferred in the subject area and three years of successful teaching experience working with high school students fostering retention or achievement. Demonstrated experience working with at-risk, underrepresented, minority or disadvantaged students. Experience providing instruction, advising, and/or academic support services. Teacher certification in High school Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, Foreign Language or professional work experience in an Elective content area is required.<br><br><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;" data-pasted="true"><u>SCHEDULE:</u></strong><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;">Every other Saturday (September- May)</strong></span><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><br></strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><span style=" color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;">Daily (End of July-Beginning of August)</strong></span></span><strong style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><br style=" color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"></strong><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;">Field Trips as Needed</strong></span><br><br><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px;"><strong style=" font-weight: 700;">Best consideration, please apply by 5/30/2026.</strong></span></p></dd> <dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><ol><li>Facilitate group and individualized instructional sessions to support student needs.</li><li>Monitor academic and educational progress of program participants.</li><li>Attend Staff meetings and trainings to review student progress; college and career readiness goals and discuss student growth across the curriculum.</li><li>Develop and implement content-specific coursework in accordance with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) and the Maryland College & Career readiness standards.</li><li>Assist with the selection of secondary and postsecondary courses within the identified content area through knowledge of BCPS/CCBC Early College Access programs and articulation agreements.</li><li>Plan and facilitate varied projects and assignments through individualized and group work.</li><li>Counsel, monitor and maintain records of student academic outcomes and provide ongoing effective feedback to students.</li><li>Relate to students across a spectrum of academic preparedness levels including identification and support for students with learning disabilities.</li><li>Report academic and/or personal student concerns to the Program Leadership as it relates to student's welfare, and special education needs.</li></ol> Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive.
