ABOUT THE POSITONThe teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Trade, Technology and Community Learning campus or other college or high school teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field, plus, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetics Registration, Educational and instructional preparation in Food Service Management, Clinical Nutrition, and Community Nutrition. At least two years of recent experience teaching Foods Nutrition and Dietetics to college students, especially at a community college. At least one year of recent experience teaching Food science lab or food production lab, or cooking courses. Knowledge of the Dietetic Service Supervisor, Nutrition Assistant programs, and Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) program. Evidence of working effectively with an Advisory Committee and local health care agencies. Evidence of an ability to address the needs of diverse and frequently underprepared student populations. Evidence of the ability to use various teaching strategies that encourage retention while successfully challenging diverse student populations. Evidence of innovation, scholarship, or leadership in Food-service, Nutrition, and Dietetics teaching. Desire is evidence of an ability to take on leadership roles within the department and the institution as a whole. Evidence of an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Evidence of an ability to use the Canvas Platform for Online, Hybrid, and in-person teaching. Ability to teach the in-person class at the LAC and TCC campuses.
