Live Talk Show Producer
<p><span style="color: black;"><strong>WJAR, Southern New England's News Leader and one of Americas most-watched television stations</strong>, has a rare opportunity for a producer of a live, daily news-talk program on television. Gene Off Script is hosted by a dynamic anchor covering current events and compelling topics and includes guests and interaction with viewers.&nbsp; The ideal candidate will follow the news closely in Southern New England and nationally, be flexible and work quickly. Previous experience in a newsroom and with a live program are required.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="color: black;"><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></span></p><ul style="list-style-type: square;"><li style="color: black;"><span>Working closely with show host and news managers</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Originating segment and interview ideas</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Booking guests and researching topics</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Editing video for the program</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Posting stories online and to social media</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Live production and timing in the control room</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Supervising an associate producer&nbsp;</span></li></ul><p><span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="color: black;"><strong><u>Required Skills and Experience:</u></strong></span></p><ul style="list-style-type: square;"><li style="color: black;"><span>The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>You must have strong writing and news judgment skills</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span>Experience with Avid and Adobe editing software a plus</span></li><li style="color: black;"><span style="color: black; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A 4-year degree in Journalism or Mass Communications</span></span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>EEO AND INCLUSIVITY:</strong></p><p>Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
