 It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status, and drug/medical examinations as required for the position. The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment. Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Wound Nurse will specialize in assessing and treating patients with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions. They will work closely with members of patient care teams to ensure that personalized treatment plans are followed correctly in order to prevent future infection or injury. This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with local, state and federal standards and regulations, established facility policies and procedures. May be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to provide appropriate care. There are essentially three different ADON tracks, general operations and a quality focus. A job incumbent is expected to be able to perform functions of all tracks at any given time, especially in the case of resource support needs. The main differentiator is the amount of time spent performing said functions, that is general operations, quality focus, or wound care. Overview: Duties: Clinical Care Oversight:
