Job Description
Tenure Track Open Rank Faculty Position Department of Pharmacology and Physiology
The Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Rochester invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. We seek a creative, enthusiastic scientist with clear potential to secure extramural funding for their research program (active extramural funding is required for candidates for Associate or Full Professor) who will synergize with the highly collaborative environment of the Department and the strategic initiatives of the Medical Center’s broader research community.

The Department, which has added ten tenure-track faculty members over the past several years, offers outstanding research and graduate training environments. Established research strengths in the department revolve around cell signaling in the context of physiology and disease and includes: calcium signaling, G protein-coupled receptor pharmacology and signaling, ion channel structure/function, and mitochondrial biology. While applicants with research interests in all areas in pharmacology and physiology are encouraged to apply, applicants with research programs that bridge the above department strengths with current institutional strategic initiatives in structural biology, neuroscience, immunotherapeutics, RNA biology, and cancer biology are of particular interest. The successful applicant will receive a highly competitive start-up package, generous laboratory space, and access to a wide range of state-of-the-art core facilities.

The University of Rochester Medical Center, the School of Medicine and Dentistry, and the adjacent Schools of Arts, Sciences and Engineering are part of a private, world-class research university, providing excellent opportunities for highly diverse, cross-disciplinary interactions and collaborations.

Candidates can apply through Interfolio via the following link: https://home.interfolio.com/16224

Include a cover letter addressed to Dr. Robert Dirksen, Lewis Pratt Ross Professor and Chair of Pharmacology and Physiology; curriculum vitae; 2–3-page description of research plans; 2-3 recent key publications; Diversity/Inclusion Statement and three references. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and should be received before December 1, 2026.
