Look past the Rainbow!!!!!

Posted By: Jasmine McDowell on January 12, 2009 most people automatically assume when they meet me that im a black girl trying to act white. its been that way for as long as i can remember even with family members. when my cousins were playing dolls and jumping rope i was trying to figure out how to sew and make a meal so i could get a good husband. and no it wasn't because it was a lot more fun i actually detested it. it was because of the examples that were set for me i love my family dearly but at an early age i resolved not to make their mistakes to not let love rule my mind or let greed cloud my judgment i was determined to come out on top.my mother was married 4 times before i even knew who my real father was.....hiccup number one the man who had been my knight and shinning armor for as long as i could remember didn't want me any more he was ready for a new deal that included a new stepmother and not an ex step daughter. but how do you explain that to a 10 year old my world was cracked in half and my belief in a good black man forever damaged. but wait the ball keeps rolling i change gears I'm no longer the girl with stars and rainbows in her eyes now im hardened there is mean cold glint to my eye " don't discriminate against the rainbow" that's my motto HA HA what a joke its a front im here to tell you almost every girl who has ever said that has been hurt deeply her foundation is cracked shes going to need a lot to help her change her views.( i know i do) these days i play hard ball with the guys never giving them all just enough to keep them believing unable to keep the past the past delighting in the chase and overall being a extreme !@#@$ . but deep down im still waiting...the thing is i don't know exactly what it is im waiting for anymore.
