Sweat, Swallow Spit, Shift and Stay Focused
|
Posted By: Danny & Laverne Brown on June 04, 2009 Excerpts from Kream of the Krop The Children of Israel were freed from the Bondage of Pharoah and the Egyptians by way of a miracle, walking on dry land through the Red Sea. Subsequently led into the desert/wilderness where the Lord "led and fed" them for 40 years. The desert/wilderness, a place of scarcity, seasons (hot, cold, moody, dry spells), stagnation, foreign food and rations. Testing them in areas of lack of or bad water and no meat. Certainly a reason to swallow your spit. Especially when they remembered what they had in Egypt. Hot days-sweating, Cold Days-chilling, Moody Days-coping and Silent Days-Sitting with bad breath. He tested them to see what was in their heart and to establish a relationship that was the result of their love for him, not things. Short Story In the Wilderness were three types of folk on a journey to the promised land. Group 1: Mixed in the Multitude. These group of people were they that lived in the flesh. They were in the multitude to vex others. Their pasttime being that of convincing others not to go forward but to keep them in mind of desiring what "used to be". Group 2: Miserable in the Multitude. This group were they who wanted to live spiritual and fleshly. The hypocrites. Their pasttime being that of complaining so much that it would discourage others to live in limbo. They were dissatisfied with what God provided; Miracle-Manna. Even though it was enough, they were never satisfied. Group 3: Manifesters in the Multitude. These people were they who had a made up mind, come hell or high water, I will embrace the promise. If I die before I get there, at least I will die on my feet. Even if I don't get there, my seed will possess the gates of the enemy. These were they that gladly received what seemed to be scarcity to others and ate their bread in hope and with gladness. Many died in the wilderness due to unbelief, impatience, murmuring, complaining and lusting for the things of the past. While others withstood the wilderness, longing to see what God said. The process of elimination and refining is a preparation for anyone that will inherit Kingdom Possessions. Whether it be here on earth or in eternity. Remember besides Joshua and Caleb, only the young people under the age of 20 and ready for war went into the Promise Land. Reason being, they were tested in the thing that matters the most, Enduring Faith and Obedience. It may be a long journey and the Lord may have to rid you of some people who are on the same path and in addition to that, he will test you to your threshold. Don't fret, he knows how much you can bear and will reward you for your steadfastness. Keep in mind that the rewards for perservance, obedience and enduring faith are great. For He rewards those that diligently seek him. The desert experience requires for us to diligently seek and serve the Lord. Through tears, embarassment and pain, we must keep Seeking him until we arrive at the Promised Land. The Journey is short compared to the long term purpose of the Kingdom. Yea, although we have to Sweat, Swallow Spit and Shift to the Unfamiliar, it is imperative that we stay focused until we embrace destiny. Remember we are prepared to conquer and since relationship precludes things, include the Lord in everything.
