A woman's hands are pure gold
Posted By: Tiara Miller on February 09, 2010 Woman Aren't Celebrated Enough If there is anything that a woman knows how to do in this world full of struggles, animosity, fear, and pain, it’s knowing how to survive. Often women are misunderstood as being weak, emotional, or melodramatic human beings. Men who hold significant jobs in office would call these traits “flaws”. Because women seem amiable, it’s believable to think that they do not have the fortitude to be in a president’s position. Truthfully, women are like fuel that keeps the world running smoothly under chaos. They are just the right ingredient that we need to keep the world from going bad and falling apart. Their “flaws” restore peace, love, brother and sisterhood back into the nation. It ‘s not that women are not qualified to become the president. Women are among the elite at being organized, influencing a crowd, and starting a movement. Everyone knows that Harriet Tubman, an African American woman, escorted over 300 slaves through the underground railroad to freedom. Although she knew she was putting her life at risk, she didn’t leave her people. She was bold, committed and effective. Are these the same qualities a president should have? However, these qualities are way too essential for just a president. Women have the “powers” of a superhero. Alicia Keys is right, we are all “superwomen“. My mother always says, “Behind a good man is a phenomenal woman.” Although this may be true, men still haven’t commended women for the right type of recognition that they deserve. Women have been told they are good at cooking and should become a chef or that they are compassionate and should be a nurse. Still, women haven’t been told that they can become president. This has happened because men are afraid for women. They understand how difficult it is to be in office and don’t want to see their women go through obstacles like in the 1950’s. Men need women to remain compassionate. They need women to provide a place of composure for them after witnessing the hardest obstacle they had to overcome. And after being tired, stressed, and feeling ugly from battling the devil’s dirty work, men need a woman’s beauty to feel human again. Still, it takes women courage to support men after being told “no” because they are feminine. Yet, women have proven that they are certified for a man’s toughest job. Women served our country as police officers, in the army, in congress, and as lawyers. Women are the most dominate human beings alive and to say they are too weak to be president is a heresy. One day women will stop repressing the dream as president and the next generation of presidents will all be women. When this happens, men will be able to see that women can handle anything. For now until it is time, women are superwomen; restoring peace and love back into the nation. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
