Posted By: torin ellis on August 02, 2010 It has been awhile since I strolled the campus grounds with a Gap backpack, more books in my hands and conversation for days. I relied on a few scholarships, GI Bill, and a handful of student loans to get me from one semester to the next. That was then and I wonder if much has changed now? I'm certain the financial requirements around paying for college are a very important part of the equation - especially in this economy. Just yesterday, sitting at a cookout, a friend spoke of a friends sons educational dream being held hostage to his high school transcript. The school will not release them until his parents are paid up. A problem since neither of them are working (right now). Thousands of students desperate to raise money for college are starting to use the Web to recruit donors. While most are getting little or no money, those who have succeeded say eight techniques can improve your chances of getting donations to your personal scholarship fund.
