My child support saga with the judges and the Union County, New Jersey court system still continues. I received an audit from the Child Support Finance Division in January 2011. In 2002, I paid my ex-wife $16,639, in 2003 - $17,128 and in 2004 paid her $12,592 for child support for our son Justin. From 2002 - 2004 I paid $46,360 for child support. In 2002 and 2003 I paid more for child support than I had left over for my take home pay. Some months I paid over $1,650 for child support and only had $870 left to live on. She was deposting over $5,580 per month into her banking account. This was a direct violation of the NJ Child Support Guidelines, Appendix IX-A, (Gann Edition 2001- 2011)

But Union County allowed this TRAVESTY and injustice to take place. The problem is even though the Superior Court judge there is aware that she made gross errors and miscalculations in the weekly percentages, she still refuses to go back and fix them now. My ex-wife was making over $100,000 in 2003 and as a team manager now makes well over $120,000 in salary and bonuses. I was forced to pay her $74,743 for child support for one child. This added to the unnecessary extra airline tickets, legal attorney fees and other costs I have spent well over $140,000 out of pocket on this case.

In the summer of 2006 I had a court ordered visitation and she refused to send Justin to me. She only agreed to comply with the court order if I flew back East and met her in the airport. That was her justification so she could violate yet another court order. I had to buy three last minute roundtrip airline tickets at a cost of $2,600 when it should have only cost me $400 plus a $40 airport escort fee. That extra $2,200 could have been better spent on our son's college education. The only reason I did was because I hadn't seen Justin in over a year due to her never ending violations of my court ordered visitations.

I had to take a red eye flight overnight, pick up Justin and then turn right around and board a return flight back to Denver. It was ridiculous. Most fathers would have given up long ago on their own biological children. Justin's mother is also African American.

Yet, she would be one of the first ones in line waving a flag proclaiming that "The Brothers are Deadbeat Dads who don't care about their kids."

But, you never hear about a so called "Deadbeat Mom" who currently owes me over $16,000 in unpaid child support arrears that was court ordered effective in 2008 from her new home state. She had taken Justin and fled the state of NJ in the summer of 2004 in order to keep me from seeing him. Then she lost a custody battle and now refuses to pay the child support. In most states a parent who owes that much child support in arrears is arrested and put in jail. Court orders have never meant a thing to her. She has violated so many of them and has never received a consequence from any of the presiding judges. This woman is a well respected professional business person who carries a briefcase and dresses nice each and every day. She is still single and has no other children. She could write me a check for the $16,000 and never miss it. Financially, she is pretty well off. (to be continued)

If anyone is interested in reading more about my continuing saga, I wrote a book titled "Justin: A Father's Fight for His Son." It was published in September 2009. So far I have had four women tell me that they read the entire book in less than one day. Justin and I could use the support to help recoup my exorbitant costs, and to help keep a roof over our heads and food on our table. My website is www.abemorris.com

Through an Internet search I discovered another African American father named William who has also had serious challenges with the judges within the Union County, New Jersey court system. His website is www.onefathersfight.org He hasn't seen his daughter in five years now. One has to wonder why this court is so unfair and biased against African American fathers?

I attended the University of Wyoming with an African American student from Linden, NJ (Union County) We were both Freshmen in college the same year. He was also beatened up financially by the judges and the child support division. He eventually suffered two strokes and has some permanent paralysis now. This is soooo sad. The guy was an athlete and played football for Wyoming.

We need to band together, let the public know and make the media aware of this systematic abuse.
