Launch is set: YBE releases first issue of publication
Posted By: Eric Foster on March 18, 2013

It's all about the young black experience...

Atlanta, Ga. (March 2, 2013) — The anticipation is over. Since 2003, YBE has worked exclusively as an online web/blog site receiving raved reviews from varied demographics. After much anticipation, YBE Magazine is moving forward with a full-fledged publication, available online at http://ybemagazine.com/magazine/ (also available in print). A quarterly calendar is scheduled for the publication with March 1st set as the debut date.

Revolutionary hip-hop duo Young Troubled Minds from the city of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is featured in the debut issue. With rhymes centered on many life-concerning matters, these rising stars give listeners food for thought on issues related to politics, social injustices and common everyday relatable issues. Editor-in-Chief Eric Foster wanted to highlight success stories within our community and encourage other young people to achieve that same success. “We focus on topics that generally are not discussed in our community, such as emotional health, depression and social injustices.”

YBEMagazine.com originally launched on June 1, 2004, and over one year later, YBE had accumulated over 12,000 visitors with 30,000+ page views.

YBE targets consumers ages 17 to 30. Visitors to the magazine’s re-designed and re-launched 2012 website are captivated by how interactive and visually appealing the new site is.

As the excitement behind YBE’s anticipated debut continues to grow, so does the momentum behind them. In a society influenced by social networks YBE Magazine is well equipped with accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for reader feedback, interaction and promotion. When questioned about what makes YBE Magazine different from any other minority publication, Foster explained, “YBE encourages its subscribers to share their stories through our website, to let us know what matters to them, who inspires them, or what injustices they see in their communities.”
