Posted By: Claudette Smith-Brown on March 21, 2013 Louisiana Public History Forum (LPHF) LOUISIANA RECONSTRUCTION ERA CONFERENCE THIRTY YEARS OF STRUGGLE: Securing and Maintaining Freedmen’s Political Rights PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 2013 - POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR DETAILS WILL BE FORTHCOMING Louisiana Reconstruction Conference: “Thirty Years of Struggle: Securing and Maintaining Freedmen’s Political Rights” We are writing to inform you that the Louisiana Reconstruction Conference: Thirty Years of Struggle has been postponed to next year 2014. We have assessed that adequate organizational preparations have not been completed. We, however, are committed to this initiative of engaging scholars, teachers, students, citizens and the public in discussions about the history of Slavery, Freedom, and Resistance. We shall follow up with you on the progress of next year’s conference preparations. The specifics on the date, the site location and conference registration will be forthcoming at a later time.
