Gentleman. . .GentleWOMAN

Gentleman. . .GentleWOMAN
Posted By: Jerry Miller on November 28, 2005

For the longest I have been stressings to my guys that they need to be gentlemen whenever possible. Open doors, smile and speak to young ladies RESPECTFULLY, if you see a young lady carrying more than she can handle offer help, you know just simple things to leave a lasting impression. And its not about trying to run game or impress the female, it just about being a man, a gentleman! I have began to notice though, alot of females don't appreciate things like that. Case in point: I am always a gentleman. Thats how I was taught and raised to be. I never enter the building before a lady (female) does, and if possible I hold the door until she enters. A few weeks ago and payed attention to the females that I did that for because my guys been complaining talking about "Man, them chicks don't like that type of $%&T!" So I decided to do a little observation.

I opened the door for one young lady, she looked at me and went through another door. Ok. . .So later on that day I tried again, different female, and she looked at me like I was crazy. Never said Thank You, 'Preciate it, or nothing. No big deal. I smile and keep going. This whole week I am polite to females. Opening doors, offering to carrying things, offering any type of help if I saw it may be needed. Out of that whole week about 70% of the young ladies I was a genltman with played me off and never said a word. I wondered if they thought I was being nice so that I could get in good with them and eventually try to holla, but truth be told, over half of these girls weren't my type. The other 30% who were nice and appreciative were either older ladies or young ladies who already knew me. Whats up with that? Is there a thought that gentlemen truly don't exist anymore? There are a few of us left, but my question today is "Where are the GentleWOMEN???

Honestly, some women think that guys r just trying to hit on them when they offer to carry things or open doors. Sometimes we just turn down help from guys because we don't want to be bothered. I like having guys open doors for me. If there's a guy walking in a door before me and he doesn't hold the door for me, I get offended. So, I thank all men who hold open doors for me and offer to carry things for me.
