What We Saw...
|
Posted By: Darryl D. Smith on January 01, 2006 2005...what a year. We saw the end and beginning of certain eras in our lifetime. Ray Charles died before the end of production of his movie, and we saw the beginning of Jamie Foxx's superstardom. We saw the end of Monday Night Football, something no football fan wanted to end. We saw the death of Eddie Guerrero, one of the best wrestlers of our time. We saw the beginning of the "end" of war in Iraq. We saw one of the worst disasters in our nation's history when Hurricane Katrina hit the South. We saw the end of trial of R. Kelly, something that didn't even make real headlines. We saw the end of Michael Jackson's trial, something that made major headlines. We saw the beginning and end of a $400 million a day strike in New York City. We saw terrorists attack London, something that struck fear in most Americans. We saw the beginning of the trial of Sadaam Hussein. We saw the death of Pope John Paul II, and the beginning of the reign of Pope Benedict XVI. We saw the beginning of what is being called the worst presendital term in history by George W. Bush. We saw Deepthroat finally come to light. We saw the death of Johnny Carson, Ossie Davis, Johnnie Cochran, Luther Vandross, Peter Jennings, Rosa Parks, and Richard Pryor. We saw the birth of stars, such as Chris Wilson, Ciara, D4L, The Game, and others. We saw the resurgence of Mariah Carey's career with an incredible Emancipation. We saw Pimp C get freed, while Bun B dropped one of the trillest albums of the year. We saw the Patriots become Super Bowl Champs once again. We saw the unbelievable drama between Terrell Owens & the Philly Eagles. We saw a great Chicago White Sox defeat the Houston Astros. We saw a terrible year for Tiger Woods. As you pop the fireworks or listen to the guns shoot, kick back and relax and review the 2005 year. It was a great year, a year of many changes. It could've been better, but it's 2006 now. Eyes have seen and ears have heard what happened in 2005. 2006 is here, and thank God we are alive. The beginning of 2006...now 2005 is the pits... Happy New Year everybody!!!
