man..i got problems

Posted By: Deonte Jenkins on February 27, 2006

Hey yall!
let me tell you guys a little about my life what i have recently been going threw. First off, my dad (who happens to live with me) said he is not going to pay for my college education "because i should have got better grades". its not like my grades are terrible, but they could be better. you see, i am in the band, he doesnt approve of that because he says band is for "soft people". he would much rather for me to play football. i bet if i played football he would help my mom pay for it. so that leaves my mom and whatever scholarship money i et to pay for college. i have the grades and test scores to get into FAMU, but it costs so much for out of state students. so, i am forced to go to a school in state or a little school out of state with low out of state. i have applied to Albany State University, and i hope i get accepted there. I have already recieved a band scholarship from them but i havent gotten an accteptance letter yet.

plus, my mom is all on my back because she really wants me to go to ASU also, but my test scores might not cause them to accept me. you need a 400 in math to get accepted, and the first time i took the SAT i made a 390, and the second time i made a 380. so she is stressing me out about these test scores. im really hoping they can look past my math scores because i meet all the other requirements. oh, and i made a 15 on the math part of the ACT and you need a 17 for ASU..so she signed me up for the SAT and ACT one more time, which i really do not want to take again. i am also looking at Miles College, Fort Valley, and Alabama State. im hoping my grandfahter can help pay my tuition if i go to Bama State. oh and check this out..when i applied to Grambling State, my dad got mad because he said Louisiana is too far to be going to school, but im like if you not paying for it why in the F you worried about where im going? but yea..thats what im going threw now..any words of encourgement will be greatly appreciated.

sorry its soo long, but i had to get this off my chest...

Everything will be okay. I am paying for school once you are done you will get a good job so your focus should be on school. Just pray and everything will work out. ANd do what you enjoy if that is band then don't worry about your dad.
