Self Revelation

Posted By: Carolyn Newton on March 15, 2006 I have discovered that I was hiding my true self for fear of being hurt. I have been hurt deeply in the past and I wanted to avoid that pain again. I am a loving, caring, gentle by nature type of person and that person was hurt. I wanted to protect the fragile girl inside me by tucking her away. But, hiding my true self is not the way to avoid pain. Being who I am and staying true to myself in spite of the pain is the true path to growth. Thanks for the encouragement cause I fell the same way right now. I'm trying to get over a bad brack up. It's hard cause I'm in love with him and now he has a new girlfriend and we see each other every now and then because I'm still good friends with his family and they always have me around.
