How to interpret your body’s indicators for superior Health part1
A Guide to ANTIOXIDANTS at Any Age

Antioxidants are natural substances that may protect your cells against the effects of free radicals. They are molecules created when your body breaks down food or is exposed to cigarette smoke and radiation. Free radicals may play a role in causing heart disease and other persistent diseases like diabetes, arthritis, cancer, hardening of the arteries, alzheimers disease, and degenerative eye diseases. These damaging elements also hasten the progression of aging. Antioxidants originate primarily in vegetables, fruits, nuts and seasonings that assist in averting or decreasing oxidation which happens at the cellular level. Antioxidants do this by eliminating "free radicals", which, if left unaided may well oxidize cells - leading to irritation and unremitting ailments like diabetes, arthritis, hardening of the arteries, carcinogenesis, brain syndromes like alzheimers disease and dementia and degenerative eye diseases. These harmful elements also hasten the aging process.

Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and carotenoids. Carotenoids are the bright-colored pigments in some of your favorite fruits and vegetables which may aid in defending cells from damage caused by free radicals. additional naturally occurring antioxidants consist of flavonoids. Flavonoids are a diverse group of phytonutrients (plantchemicals) found in almost all fruits and vegetables, tannins, Tannins (commonly referred to as tannic acid) are water-soluble polyphenos that are present in many plant foods, Phenols, Phenols constitute probably the largest group of plant secondary metabolites, varying in size and Lignans, Lignans are a large class of secondary metabolites in plants that have numerous biological effects in mammals, including antitumor and antioxidant activities. Plant-based foods are the most outstanding resource. These consist of fruits, vegetables and their juices, whole-grain food, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices, and even chocolate.

As an additional benefit fruits, vegetables and whole grains high in antioxidants are as well characteristically high in fiber, low in saturated fat and cholesterol, and excellent sources of vitamins and minerals. So take pleasure in the variety.
