The Top 10 Destinations to Study Abroad in After COVID-19

The Top 10 Destinations to Study Abroad in After COVID-19
Posted By: Anthony Christensen on May 29, 2020

Many college study abroad programs were abruptly cut short as a result of the rapid spread of the coronavirus. After the COVID-19 crisis has passed, many students will be looking to scratch their itch for wanderlust and expand their educational horizons with a new study abroad program. Here are 10 of the best destinations to study abroad after the global pandemic eases.

France:

This European study abroad destination is popular for a variety of reasons. The vibrant nightlife of cities such as Paris, a world-class arts and cultural scene, and affordable tuition fees make France a top destination for students wanting to immerse themselves in this beautiful and romantic culture.

Italy:

While students may flock to Italy for the prospect of mouth-watering food and drink, they will soon find much more beyond the surface of this gorgeous country. You can choose from a thriving city scene by studying in Milan or Rome or choose the artsy vibe of Florence.

Germany:

Germany is the heart and soul of Europe's economic scene, making it a natural fit for higher learning opportunities. Its central European location also makes Germany a great place to study if you want to explore other nearby countries while enjoying your program. As a bonus, you will be able to revel in the fun of amazing cultural activities such as Oktoberfest or the traditional Christmas markets.

Spain:

The colorful country of Spain is an exceptional place to study if you are looking for warm weather, a hospitable culture and people, and a low cost of living. Students enjoy traveling to the beach destinations on the weekend or immersing themselves in the culturally significant cityscapes in Madrid and Barcelona. It will not take long before you are enjoying your afternoon tapas and sangria like the locals.

Argentina:

Studying in Argentina is especially popular for students majoring in Spanish who want to think outside of the box. While the country is located in South America, it has a very European vibe, giving you the best of both worlds.

Argentina's diverse landscape features mountain peaks and glaciers as well as beaches and deserts.

Canada:

If learning a new language is not on your bucket list and you want to remain relatively close to home, you will want to consider the chance to study in Canada. A stunning natural landscape and a myriad of colleges and universities deliver something for everyone with the neighbors to the north. Assimilating yourself in this familiar culture will also be easier for American students so that you can focus on your studies.

United Kingdom:

Like Canada, doing your study abroad program in the United Kingdom will offer a lower learning curve than traveling to a country where English is not the first language. You can choose to stay in London or study at one of the many diverse countryside institutions of higher learning for a completely different experience.

Taiwan:

Affordability makes Taiwan an especially great place to study. Many students will pay next to nothing for the actual tuition costs. Taiwan is a particularly attractive destination for those students looking to focus their studies on new technologies. Taiwan's advanced infrastructure is also a significant selling point for students looking for a secure place to study.

Australia:

The Land Down Under delivers a host of study abroad opportunities. As one of the most popular destinations for international students, you will meet people from all over the world in Australia. The friendly locals are known to welcome new students with open arms, making this an easy place to assimilate.

South Korea:

For a truly unique experience, be sure to consider South Korea as your study abroad home base. With over a dozen internationally rated universities in Seoul alone, you will surely find your niche and area of study. South Korea also has a reputation for being a safe country with a low crime rate.

Wherever you decide to spend your study abroad program, it is important to remember that this experience is about far more than just your academic achievements. Take this opportunity to immerse yourself in new cultures, meet new people, and stretch your comfort zone.
