Posted By: Ashley Sutton on November 13, 2020 FAIRFIELD, ALABAMA – Miles College announces a grand opening for its Student Health and Wellness Center. The impact of COVID-19 has brought about an increase in the demand for testing and preventative medicine as well as wellness and mental health needs among college students. Miles College President Bobbie Knight and her administrative leadership team plan to expand access to health and wellness services to every student on the campus of Miles College. “The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the way we assess and address the wellness needs of our students,” said Bobbie Knight, Miles College President. “Our goal is to provide our students with resources and connect them early to licensed health service providers with hopes to shatter any stigma that may come with seeking them out.” Miles College’s health and wellness center will be staffed with a doctor and nurse practitioner, and one mental health counselor. The center will also be a COVID-19 testing site for faculty, students, and staff. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
