Full Time Job Opening - Web Designer II

Under limited supervision, Designer II is responsible for creating graphics, layouts, and wireframes to support Shure’s web and digital portfolio. They work in collaboration and under leadership of other designers to ensure concepts are modern, efficient, and mobile-friendly. They will work to set overall design and workflow standards for the team. Must have demonstrated experience creating graphics and layouts for web applications, and the ability to understand development concepts and how they might affect their work. Should have experience designing full websites from scratch, and working with developers to execute their vision. Responsibilities Create graphics, layouts, and wireframes for Shure’s digital properties Design applications and landing pages from scratch, adhering to Shure’s established brand guidelines Perform regular audits of digital properties to ensure modern standards are applied Sit in on project meetings to assist in defining design scope with internal and external stakeholders Take a lead role in establishing design scope and timeline for new projects Respond to tickets placed by internal stakeholders in a timely fashion Complete assigned design projects with limited supervision, and maintain regular communication with team management and stakeholders Participate in regular status meetings with the Global Web Team Walk external stakeholders through design layouts or wireframes to make sure goals are met Revise wireframes when they don’t meet application goals, while maintaining brand guideline integrity Collaborate with designers in various departments to ensure consistent branding Take a leadership role in Shure’s design community through in-person and virtual meetings Play a leadership role in selecting the team’s toolset, and helping to inform workflow processes between content and development Process analytics to help inform design decisions, and back them up with demonstrable data. Qualifications 2 to 5 years of experience creating designs for digital properties Experience Adobe Creative Suite, XD or Sketch, and other modern design tools Working knowledge of front-end web technologies, like HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The ability to work closely with a developer to turn your designs into live concepts An understanding of version control technologies Experience with project management tools, like JIRA, Basecamp, or Quip Familiarity with prototyping tools, and some experience with Zeplin A hunger for the use of emerging web technologies The ability to communicate clearly across borders, and the ability to talk design with those who may not be design inclined. Experience creating modern user interfaces, and testing those interfaces Demonstrated experience designing applications or websites for mobile use Demonstrated experience with responsive design An understanding of accessibility issues, and experience designing interfaces for screen readers and other accessibility tools An informed and opinionated approach to excellent digital design If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
