the march...

the march...
Posted By: Johnathan Williams on May 01, 2006

Hmmmm.. Young Mexicans who want the American dream march all across the country today. Now as a Black man knowing my history it is important for us to realize that marching and protesting lead to equal rights for us as a people. Is this the first step for Mexicans who are not citizens of this country to gain their rights and live in the US?

Mexicans work jobs that are reported by the media that young and old Blacks will not work. Is that true.... Hmmm I would have to say "YES" Here is why... Look at the prison population of young black men who rather attempt to earn money working fast food or at Wal-Mart.

They rather slang and bang in order to make quick fast illegal monies. However, as we all know the only outcome of that quick money is jail and death.

Good or bad, the Mexicans protest will only bring bad attention to us. The "Man" is going to use this to point out all the jobs that "POOR" Blacks and whites will not work. We all know there are certain jobs we will not work because it is not up to their standards..... Young Black men need to stop being lazy, learn a trade, go to college, and or find a job that they can work hard, and get promoted.

This is only going to get worse before it gets any better... I pary we all can get along...

You are absolutely right about that! I'm not that old, but I don't know what is the matter with young people not wanting to work. I'm talking doing chores, getting a job and the whole 9. Or either expecting to be paid like someone with skills, but not bringing any to the table. That's one thing about immigrants, they work and work hard. They understand that status, background nor even education is a substitue for hard work. From a woman's prospective, there is nothing I like to see more than a hard-working Black man or young boy. I think it has to be instilled early.

True the immigrants are coming over here taking jobs that poor blacks and whites will not work. Reason, can they as tax-paying citizens afford to take these jobs?? You are forgetting that the immigrants even the ILLEGAL immigrants come over here, do not pay taxes, have free medical , get food stamps and send all of their money back to Mexico, a country that doesn't even give a heck about the U.S. We are promoting them. They don't want to become citizens because that will mean they will have to pay income taxes. Yet they can march and say that we are doing them wrong. If they don't want to become citizens and just want to work over here, I think they should be deported. If these farmers and everyone else would pay people a liveable wage, they could get people to work for them.

I must agree and being that I'm in Cali myself in Ventura County home of the best strawberries and Orange fields where a majority of Mexican work. I agree we all need to get off of what we would do for a living people are making some good money working in fields and they're free not in prison for the fast dollar. As a matter a fact in Oxnard the field workers live in new housing so we really need to get it together and understand those jobs we're once ours and in order to become better parts of society make a real living by getting a descent job you can be proud of regardless of what it is...as long as it's legal...
