To Do List: How to Organize Your Pressing Daily Tasks

To Do List: How to Organize Your Pressing Daily Tasks
Posted By: Rachelle Wilber on March 15, 2021

As you become more entrenched in your life, the daily responsibilities of family and work can often seem overwhelming. That's why nearly every adult has relied on a classic to do list to help them get through their tasks. Instead of scribbling things down on a piece of scrap paper and losing it in the wash, try one of these fun and creative ways to keep your ideas organized and easy to find.

Planning Journal

If you're the type of person who likes to look back on your previous work, keeping your to do list in a journal can be an incredibly gratifying solution. Devote every page to a day's worth of tasks and activities. One the page next to it, jot down the creative ideas and poetic thoughts that occur while you're getting things done. By the end of the year, you'll have an entire book that proves how complicated and productive your life really is.

Phone App

Modern technology has made keeping track of things faster than ever before. Since your phone is always in your pocket, it's a great choice for managing your tasks. Start by checking to see if your phone comes with a good notepad app; depending on your operating system, you may be able to cross off items that you've completed. Otherwise, browse your app store for a fun task list program with features that you enjoy.

Things to look for include the ability to schedule events, color code different tasks, and re-use an old task for a future list.

Personal Stationary

There's something charming and nostalgic about jotting down your to do list on a traditional notepad. Many adults love to wake up in the morning, reach over to their bedside table, and quickly review the notes that they left from the day before. But instead of using sticky notes or standard memo paper, the savvy and stylish professional prefers to work with personalized note pads. You can choose the color of your paper, design the header, and even add decorations to the corners. For an extra bit of flair, try designing different pads to match the rooms that they'll be kept in.

White Board

If you're looking for a way to bring tasks front and center without needing to manage your lists, consider adding a white board somewhere in your home. Colorful dry erase markers will let you make any kind of list that you need to be productive. When you complete a task, you can either cross it off or erase it depending on your mood. Don't forget to add a date next to your list; that way, if you forget about your task, you can see how long it's been sitting there.

Managing your tasks is all about finding an organization method that you like and sticking with it. Whether you prefer to work digitally or write on real paper, the only thing that matters is that you're actually getting your job done.
