Top 3 Foods That Will Keep You Kids Happy
|
Posted By: Stephanie Snyder on June 28, 2021 Your children probably think that eating chocolate, candy, and soda will keep them happy. Your kids will most likely enjoy these foods because of how good they taste, but there is a lack of scientific reasoning to prove that these foods can affect happiness levels. As a parent concerned about good nutrition, high nutritional food is at the top of your list. But what to feed them? And how to make it easier to go grocery shopping with them in mind too? Unlike foods like candy and chocolate, some foods have a solid scientific backing on boosting happiness and strength in kids. In addition to boosting happiness levels, these foods can also have other benefits as well. Here is a list of three foods that can help keep your kids levels of happiness. Fatty FishThere are many different types of fish that are considered "fatty fish.”. They are referred to as fatty fish because of the fatty acids that are within the fish. The omega-3 fatty acids are the ones that are most beneficial because of the body's inability to produce them. There are two types of fish that are especially beneficial towards controlling your mood. These fish are salmon and albacore. These two fish contain two specific omega-3 fatty acids that are associated with lower depression levels. Docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid are the two particular omega-3 acids that contribute to lower depression levels. If your child does not like fish, then there are other ways to consume this omega-3s. A fish oil supplement is made that contains similar amounts of omega-3s as the actual fish do. However, it is preferred that the actual fish is consumed because it is a more natural way of getting these nutrients. While a young child may not suffer from depression, consuming foods like this may help them avoid depression later in life. Fermented FoodsFermented foods have gone through chemical changes due to the action of the yeast or bacteria contained in the food. During the fermentation probiotics are created within the food. Probiotics have multiple benefits, but the main benefit is that they help healthy bacteria grow. These beneficial bacteria can help in maintaining good gut health and increasing serotonin levels. Serotonin is a hormone that affects the brain which helps regulate mood, happiness and anxiety. By increasing serotonin levels, you are more likely to have higher levels of happiness, better moods and less stress. Serotonin is mainly produced in the gut, soy you need to increase the healthy bacteria in your gut. Foods that go through fermentation processes include yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut and many other foods. You must look into which foods create probiotics because beer and certain breads are fermented, but they do not produce the same probiotics that other fermented foods do. FruitsFruits are filled with various vitamins and antioxidants. Those vitamins and antioxidants can influence many things, such as decreasing rates of depression and increase levels of dopamine and serotonin. Specifically, the fruits that can contribute to these things are bananas and various types of berries. Bananas are extremely high in potassium and vitamin B6. They are also rich in natural sugars and fiber. The B6 vitamin is what can influence serotonin and dopamine levels. The benefits of serotonin were mentioned with the fermented foods, but dopamine is a neurotransmitter that sends messages from the brain to your body. Dopamine controls the feeling of pleasure, so by increasing dopamine levels, you feel increased levels of pleasure. Berries are associated with being able to lower depression levels potentially. The antioxidant that can assist in doing so is anthocyanins, which also helps give berries their blue and purple colors. You can mix these fruits into a smoothie to make it easier for your children to eat, and if that is what you decide to do, you should also include a Tourette Syndrome support supplement. Naturekue has created this supplement for children over the age of 5-years old, and it is filled with nutrients and antioxidants that can help prevent this disease. While your child might not suffer from this disease, you can never be too careful in your preventative measures. ConclusionThese three foods are probably already incorporate into your child's diet, but it is good to be aware of the benefits that they provide. Also, now that you know the benefits of these foods, you may want to increase the volume of them in your child's diet.
